Virdung recorders
Sebastian Virdung provided directions on the composition of a recorders consort and on their fingerings. The consort was made up of a bass flute in F, two tenors in C and an alto in G.
The fingerings are shown in the treaty for each individual instrument.
My reconstruction of the instruments was inspired by the drawings included in the book that also coincide with those published later in another treaty: Music instrumentalis deudsch by Martin Agricola, published in Wittenberg in 1529
